Great news for citizens and visitors to Isle of Wight County: construction on the Park-to-Park Trail is scheduled to start Spring 2016. This remarkable 4.2 mile multi-use Trail is designed to get people off the roads and onto safe access to movement throughout the area without having to get into a vehicle.

The Park-to-Park Trail connects the 150-acre Nike District Park to Windsor Castle Park and Historic Downtown Smithfield. It connects over 8,000 households in the most heavily populated portion of our County, with each other, services, shopping, historical sites and unlimited recreation opportunities. It has been a long time in the planning and development stage, so we are excited to see it come to fruition.

For more information on the trail, please visit the latest edition of the Isle of Wight County electronic newsletter, Voices from the Isle, which features the Park to Park Trail updates and questions and answers.

Friends of the Park to Park Trail have joined together in a Facebook community.

We look forward to connecting with you in this effort AND seeing you along the Trail in 2016!!!
