Isle of Wight voters will make the right decision in voting for Stanton as our new Commonwealth’s attorney on 3 Nov. Stanton brings dedication as a 16-year resident committed to justice for all, experience in prosecuting and defending all types of cases, and exhibiting strong leadership skills we desire in this position.

Stanton knows a respectful relationship between the Commonwealth’s Attorney and local law enforcement, while remembering “familiarity breeds contempt,” our hard lesson-learned four years ago. Stanton brings the independence required in this position in order to protect all the rights of all our citizens. There’s been way too comfortable and lax atmosphere between local attorneys and the “acting” CA, who has a reputation for “giving away” cases. We need to break this “good old boy/girl” circle at the Courthouse. Now is the time to do it.

Stanton has a plan to address significant issues affecting our quality of life, especially our youth. Years ago, addressing the “sexting” issue that is so destructive among our youth was an initiative if the prosecutor’s office. Recently, not a peep! But, the problem has not gone away. Why hasn’t there been any interaction between the “acting” Commonwealth’s attorney and the high schools’ administrations?

Jennifer Stanton’s “get up and go” personality, principled professionalism and legal skills will ensure that anyone who threatens our safety in Isle of Wight will not get off easy. Do you want a fresh, principled approach that will benefit all of us? I do. I enthusiastically recommend my fellow citizens join me in casting our votes for Stanton as our next “for Real” Isle of Wight Commonwealth’s Attorney.
