Throughout most of the summer, the food bank at Isle of Wight Christian Outreach runs short of food. This is due partly because food drives slow down and children who normally eat breakfast and lunch at school are home fulltime. The summer food distribution is greatly enhanced by the generous donation of fruit, vegetables, baked goods and other specialties from the vendors at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings. A very special “thank you” to each of the following who helped make the COP summer food distribution more plentiful and wholesome:

Browder Farm, Southeastern Farms, Allens Farm, Griffin Farm, Robert Boroughs, Willie Evans Farm, Drumhellers Orchard, Chippokes Creek Farm, Artisans Bread, Keven Rudy (Southern Shore Lawn & Landscaping), and Mrs. Witty Minton, for the use of her land for gardening. (Mrs. Minton died recently.) And a special “thank you” to the Dubinsky family for collecting and bringing the produce to the COP building each week.
