Anne Manning Johnson, 58, of Smithfield passed away Tuesday Jan. 19 at her residence. 

She was the daughter of Anne Mathews Manning and the late James Earl Manning.

Anne is survived by her husband of 17 years, Samuel “Doug” Johnson; two stepdaughters, Stacy J. Miller (Kent) and Ashley J. Liufau (Chris) and her stepgrandchildren, Sydney, Katelyn and Emma. 

Anne was predeceased by a brother, Joey T. Manning.

A loving wife and daughter, Anne had recently enjoyed her retirement from the hotel industry and the post office. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield.  Visitation will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the National Kidney Foundation National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016, or the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, VA 23431.
