Edwin Cobb Ramsey of Isle of Wight County, died Easter morning, March 27, 2016 in hospice care at Obici after a long illness due to complications of myotonic muscular dystrophy.  He was born July 3, 1963.  

Edwin is predeceased by his father, John A. “Jack” Ramsey Jr. and his brother, John A. Ramsey III.  He is survived by his mother, Mildred C. Ramsey; siblings, Nancy A. Ramsey and Reed C. Ramsey; and nieces, Jaclyn A. Ramsey Smith and Carly Reed Ramsey.

Edwin graduated from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in 1982 and attended N.C. State.  During his early education he attended Isle of Wight Academy.  He also attended Hargrave Military Academy summer sessions where his love of horses led to his adoption of two horses.

He was employed with the family farming business, Ramsey Brothers Inc. and also was a U.S. postal carrier.
