Charles “Charlie” Emmet Davis, 86, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his home in Surry County. 

He was born the youngest of 5 children, to the late Rev. Robert L. Davis and Grace Ellis Davis. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charmayne Williams, and his son, Michael Cooke.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Eleanor A. Davis; his daughter, Scharlie (Terry) Moore; and his step daughters, LeeAnn (William) Archer and Valerie (Stephen) Delgado; his sisters, Ruth Francis and Joan McDaniel; and 29 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016.  The location is in Surry at Lebanon Baptist Church, 162 Lebanon Road.  Viewing and visiting will be on Friday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m., at the church as well, where Mr. Davis served as a faithful member and deacon for many years.
