Fenton Warren Wyatt Sr.

CARROLLTON — Fenton Warren Wyatt Sr., “Big Moe”, 86, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016.  Born in Battery Park on Jan. 25, 1930, Fenton was the son of the late Fenton A. and Pansy Crowley Wyatt.  He was a lifelong Isle of Wight County resident.

In addition to his parents, Fenton was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Wyatt; a son, Terry Wyatt; three sisters, Sandra Hitchings, Martha Wyatt, and Marnette Johnson; and a brother, Leslie Wyatt.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Fenton W. Wyatt Jr., and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Craig Wyatt (Mary), Laura Stephens (Chris) and Angelia Wyatt; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Wyatt, Colton, Colby and Cynclaire; sister, Cenia Hollingsworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In his early years, Fenton was a carpenter.  Later, he was employed as an electrician at Newport News Shipbuilding, retiring after 32 years of service.  He was a member of Churchland Assembly of God.  A man of deep convictions, he loved his God and his family and friends.  In his pastime, Fenton was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Family and friends will gather for visitation Saturday, May 28, 6:30 – 8 p.m.  at Colonial Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, May 29, 3 p.m. in St. Luke’s Memorial Park, with the Rev. Larry O’Brien officiating.
