Annie Elliott Nurney, 89, passed away Aug. 26, 2016.  She was born in Hertford County, N.C. the daughter of the late John Henry Elliott and Manie Liverman Elliott.  She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, John David Nurney Sr. She was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church and the Philathia Sunday school class.

 Annie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Billy Cofer, Sue and Diney Wells, Brenda and Mark McDonald; son and daughter-in-law, John D. Nurney Jr. and Teresa Nurney; grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa L. Girard (Mark), William Cofer Jr. (Shelley), Heather Copeland (Chris), John D. Nurney III (Candice), J. B. Wells (Amy), Cole McDonald, Mindy Mandall (Justin); six great-grandchildren, Brandie Girard, Emma, Will, and Anna Cofer, Christina Copeland and Ellie Mandall; sister, Sarah Leigh Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Central Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends will have a chance for further time of fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Hill Baptist Church at 10270 Central Hill Rd., Windsor, VA 23487.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
