Joan Bailey Stallings, 81, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at home. She was the wife of the late Jerry Johnson Stallings. A native of Isle of Wight County, Joan was also a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.   

In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ronald Hilliard, and a sister, Glenda Lamb. She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Jerry Dean Stallings (Sharon); daughters, Olivia S. Hilliard and Robin S. Morris (Doug); seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating Joan’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, in Colonial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Rhoton officiating.  Family and friends will gather in the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service for visitation. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.
