BATTERY PARK — Mable Keyton Carter, 91, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 following a lengthy illness.  Born in Harrisonburg on March 8, 1925.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph H. Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Susan C. Grimsley and Kathy C. Carver; a son, Larry J. Carter; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating Mable’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, in Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton, with Richard Carver officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home.  Burial will be private in the Battery Park Cemetery.
