AMENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, (1950), as amended, that the Town Council of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Town Council on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 7:30 o'clock P.M., in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia to consider the amendment of certain provisions of the Town’s Zoning Ordinance. The proposed amendment of the Zoning Ordinance is amendment and revision of the following article of the ordinance:

The proposed amendment affects Sections A. and C. of the Article and expands the permitted uses in the district to include retail sales. Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Town Council in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the application of Cabco Properties, LLC, owner, for a special use permit under the provisions of Article 3.A., Section C-1., and Article 6 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve the subdivision of a lot to contain 2.22 acres for use as a single family residence with temporary private water and sewer systems. Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, February 16, 2017 to consider the following applications:

The application of Gary Burke, owner and applicant, for a Conditional Use Permit on 5 acres of land, located at 19271 Muddy Cross Drive in the Newport Election District. The purpose of the application is to allow for a contractor office/storage facility to be located on a parcel currently zoned Rural Agricultural Conservation (RAC).

An ordinance to amend and reenact the following sections of the Isle of Wight County Code, Appendix B, Zoning: Article V, Supplementary use regulations; Section 5-5002, Supplementary use regulations for residential use types; in order to revise the requirements for home occupations.
