SUFFOLK — Dale Owen Bucher Beale, passed away at her home in Driver on Feb. 13, 2017, which is the same day her father passed in 2004. Dale was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Richmond. She was the daughter of Ruth Owen Dickens Bucher and the late Alvin M. Bucher.

Dale will be remembered for her dry sense of humor, her never-ending love for Virginia Tech and dogs, and for her strong opinions and beliefs. Dale was passionate in teaching children and shared an amazing ability to make people feel special through conversation. 

Dale is survived by her mother, Ruth D. Bucher; her sister, Judy Crane, her brother-in-law, Stephen Crane, their two children, William and Laura Crane, and her eight cousins and extended family and friends.

Dale’s graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond, with her cousin, Minister Rick Bucher, officiating.
