Evalyan Lassiter Cannon

Evalyan Lassiter Cannon, 80 passed away on Friday March 24, 2017 with her family by her side. Born in Newport News, she moved to Smithfield where she lived for nearly 40 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, William Woodward Cannon. 

She is survived by two daughters, Carole E. Naibauer, Judith C. Bacalis, (Theodore); one son, William E. Cannon (Marilyn); four grandchildren, Evalyan, Mary, Byron, Avarie; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ashlee and Jordan; and three brothers, Edward C. Lassiter, G. Preston Lassiter and Robert E. Lasssiter. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Columbus Lassiter and Annie Druscilla Hicks Lassiter, and was preceded in death by ten siblings. 

A member of Carrollton Baptist Church, she was a dedicated life member of the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary. 
A funeral service will be held Tuesday March 28, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, with burial to follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
