NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

On Thursday, the 20th day of April, 2017, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Isle of Wight, Virginia (the “County”), will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance of general obligation bonds of the County (the “School Bonds”). The School Bonds are to be issued in the estimated maximum principal amount of $7,900,000 to finance the acquisition, construction and equipping of facilities and equipment for public school purposes and uses.

At the same meeting, the Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on redirecting the purposes of certain previously authorized general obligation bonds of the County. The County intends to amend the related authorizing resolutions to provide that the authorized but unissued principal amounts of such bonds (approximately $1,675,582 in the aggregate) may be used to finance the acquisition, construction and equipping of facilities and equipment for transportation purposes and uses.

The public hearings will be conducted in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex on Route 258, 17130 Monument Circle, Isle of Wight, Virginia during the Public Hearing section of the meeting which will begin at 6:00 p.m. Interested persons may appear at such time and place and present their views.

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 20, 2017 to consider the following applications:

The application of Preston and Valerie Artis, owners, for a Conditional Use Permit on a 12.6 acre parcel, located at 18442 Muddy Cross Drive. The purpose of the application is to allow for a home occupation which exceeds the requirements of the zoning ordinance. The application of William Edwards, Southern Casting, LLC, owner and applicant, for a Conditional Use Permit on a 6.99 acre parcel, Tax Parcel Identification Number 69E-01-001, located at 33211 Lees Mill Road. The purpose of the application is to allow for a concrete and asphalt plant on a parcel zoned General Industrial. An ordinance to amend and reenact the following section of the Isle of Wight County Code, Appendix B, Zoning: Article V, Supplementary Use Regulations; Section 5000.G, Walls and Fences; in order to provide an exemption for fences or walls existing prior to the adoption of the zoning ordinance effective August 30, 2005, on a property designated as a National Historic Landmark located in a designated historic overlay district.

Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.
