God, in His infinite wisdom and power, called Timothy Perry Tucker from his earthly labor to his eternal rest on April 19, 2017.
He was a native of Isle of Wight County and was born to the late James Edward Tucker and Beatrice Hardy Tucker. He was baptized at an early age and held his membership at Shiloh Baptist Church, Zuni, Va.
He was employed at Gwaltney of Smithfield for many years and served as Supervisor for most of his tenure. Timothy was known as “jack of all trades” and he demonstrated that well at Main Street Baptist Church where he transferred his membership in 1975. Whether the job was electrical, carpentry or plumbing, he had a “foot” on it. He served faithfully as a deacon for 32 years, a member of Sunday School, Finance Committee, Men’s Fellowship as well as chair of Deacon Board. He also served on the Board of Directors for Church Manor, Inc., Covenant Place, Inc., and Evergreen Acres, Inc. After his retirement in 1996, he was able to dedicate more of his time to the work of the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Tucker, brothers; Arcelious, Wilbert and Sherbie Tucker.
His presence will be greatly missed and cherished by his wife, Audrey and daughters, Veronica Gibson, Timothene Tucker, Melanie Wilkerson and grandson, Timothy Jamel Sampson. Sisters: Shirley Morrison, Yvonne Lindsey, Carol Purdie (Tillery). Brothers: Louis (Bettie), Bobby (Rosetta), and Willis tucker; Neville Fields and Harold Ashe (Robin); sisters-in-law, Betty C. tucker, Shirley Newby, Elizabeth Newby and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
