Deborah Anne Blackwell

Deborah Anne Blackwell, 57, of Carrollton, completed the ultimate goal on Tuesday May 2, 2017, ending this physical life, and now living freely and happily in her spirit with her Creator and Savior.  The daughter of the late William “Willie” Smith Blackwell and Virginia Linkous Blackwell, she is survived by her Aunt Viola Norfleet; cousin Arlene N. Hogan (Walter) and their daughter Alexandra; along with many other cousins in Blacksburg.  She is also survived by her extended family, Bob and Sue Farley, Evelyn Phelps, Steve and Linda Wilkinson, and their families along with her family at Smithfield Assembly of God and her Sentara family.

Debbie was a dedicated member of Smithfield Assembly of God Church, and served as the church board secretary for many years and loved working with children in the church nursery.  She was a dedicated employee of Obici/Sentara Healthcare for 38 years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday May 6, 11 a.m. at Smithfield Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donald E. Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the church.
