Peyton “Pate” Page Nottingham IV

Peyton “Pate” Page Nottingham IV, 58 passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Sentara Careplex Hospital.  Born in Norfolk, Peyton was raised in Carrollton, graduated from Smithfield High School and furthered his education with Lucas Travel School in Norfolk.

For 19 years, Peyton was employed with AAA Agency.  He obtained his CTA from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents.  He earned his ACC (accredited cruise counselor) from Cruise Lines International Association.

His passion for travel and traveling experiences was passed on to his devoted customers for their upcoming trips and for their memories.

Survivors include his parents, Joanne Johnson and Peyton Page Nottingham III; sister, Beverley Nottingham Prillaman (Paul “Bud”); nephew, Paul Nelson Prillaman (Amanda) and great nephew, Paul Davis Prillaman; and a host of extended friends and family. Pate was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sidney and Nancy Johnson and paternal grandparents, Jane and Peyton Nottingham Jr. 

Family and friends will gather for visitation, Tuesday, July 12, 6-7:30 pm, in Colonial Funeral Home, A graveside funeral service will be held a 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, in St. Luke’s Memorial Park, with the Rev. Macon Walton officiating.  All attending the graveside service are requested to meet at Colonial Funeral Home at 3 p.m., dressed in casual attire and proceed to the cemetery in procession.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Food Bank of the VA Peninsula, 2401 Aluminum Avenue, Hampton, VA  23661 in Pate’s memory.  They express a special “thank you” to Janice Kosker for being such a true friend and for being by Peyton’s during his illness.
