Curtis Oliver Drummond

BATTERY PARK — Curtis Oliver Drummond, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. Born in the Accomack, Curtis grew up in Isle of Wight County. He was the son of the late Curtis Raymond and Lillian Irene Johnson Drummond. Curtis was a 1951 graduate of Smithfield High School, where played baseball and had an opportunity to play baseball in the major league. He served in the U.S. Army, and came back to Battery Park to work in the family seafood business. He retired from SW Rawls Petroleum Company.
Remembered as a “special man” by close family and friends, Curtis is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol W. Drummond; three daughters, Kathy Richardson, Karen Fletcher, Kimberly Perry; two sons, Kevin Drummond and Bart Drummond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
In his pastime, Curtis was an avid fisherman and a fan of Yankees baseball and the Green Bay Packers football team.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Tuesday, Aug. 15, 6-7:30 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton. A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.
