Janet Goodrich Jones, 80 of Smithfield passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 with her husband Ward by her side.   Janet was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Goodrich and Mattie Ellis Goodrich.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Ward Jones Jr. and their son Richard Ward Jones, III (Frank).  She is also survived by a sister, Paulette Wells.  

Janet retired from the business office at Verizon Telephone after 40 years of service.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. in Mill Swamp Cemetery, Ivor, with the Rev. Becky Gwaltney officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 20, 6-7 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.
