John Morgan Wellons Jr. of Windsor passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. Born Aug. 16, 1947, he was a son of Clara Virginia Catron Wellons and the late John Morgan Wellons Sr. John served his country in the United States Air Force and was a graduate of Mississippi College where he majored in history. He was also a member of Central Hill Baptist Church, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and a Baptist minister. John was a good Christian man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his mother, left to cherish his memory is his sister, Virginia “Jenny” Wellons Rhodes and her husband, Dusty of Zuni; his brother, Mark Edward Wellons and his wife, Nancy of Kouts, Ind.; a niece, Lindsay Wellons Murray and her husband, Chris of St. Paul, Minn. and numerous cousins. 

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at Central Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Jones officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial with military honors will follow the reception at the Mill Swamp Baptist Church cemetery. R.W. Baker & Co.
