Margaret Kennedy White passed away on Jan. 8, 2018. She was born in Norfolk on March 16, 1927, to William and Sally Duncan Kennedy. She graduated from Maury High School in 1944, The College of William and Mary in 1948, and enjoyed a long teaching career at Smithfield High School.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Gwaltney W. “Buddy“ White Jr., son Gwaltney W. “Bud” White III, brothers William and Thomas Kennedy, and sister Ann Eure.

She is survived by her daughter, Sally W. Beckett and husband Rob of Virginia Beach; grandson, Gwaltney Wright and wife Samantha of Chesapeake; granddaughter, Lauren Caughorn and husband Nick of Virginia Beach; and great-grandchildren Landon and Juliana Wright and Brody and Chase Caughorn.

The family would especially like to thank her caregivers Lita Heninger, Marilyn Sanchez and Marilyn Curtis for the loving care and companionship they provided.

Per Margaret’s request, there will be no services.
