Fletcher Glover “F.G.” Edwards Jr., 95, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 in Obici Hospital.  He was born in Isle of Wight County in January of 1923, the son of the late Georgie Kennie Whitley and Fletcher Glover Edwards Sr. 

F.G. was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on several committees.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 69 years, Nancy; daughter, Connie White; grandson, Keith (Amanda); three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Adalynn and Ainsley.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating.  A reception will be held following the service in the Family Life Center.  Burial will be private.
