SURRY—Michael Christopher Pittman, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 11, 2018. Michael graduated from Smithfield High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps to serve his country. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Griffin.

He is survived by his father, Eugene Pittman, and his brother, Aubrey Pittman.

A private ceremony is being planned. Memorials can be given to the Isle of Wight County Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Surry County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
