NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD
SPECIAL USE PERMIT

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of BAER Development, owner, and 757 Brewing Company, applicant, for a special use permit under the provisions of Article 3.K, Sections C.10 & C:12 and Article 6 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve the use of the property for an eating establishment, ancillary to I-1 District uses, in particular a taproom and restaurant, and for retail sales in a warehouse or wholesale establishment, wherein as least 60% of the gross floor area is devoted to warehouse use, for the sales of brewing supplies and promotional merchandise. The property which is the subject of this special use permit is located at 895 W. Main Street. The property in question is zoned I-1, Light Industrial District.
Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special use permit are available for inspection in the town offices, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL SIGN EXCEPTION

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of Smithfield Square Associates, owner and Retail Business Services/applicant, for a special sign exception under the provisions of Article 10, Section L. of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve a special sign exception to allow four (4) marquis signs flanking the doors of the Food Lion grocery store which proposed signs are not permitted under the provisions of the zoning ordinance. The property upon which the signs are to be located is the Food Lion #849 located is at 1941 S. Church Street. (Tax Map # 22-10-003). The property in question is zoned PS-C, Planned Shopping Center and EC-O, Entrance Corridor Overlay.
Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors at its meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 will hold a public hearing to consider the leasing of approximately 2.6 acres of County property located on Great Springs Road to the Smithfield Rotary Club. A copy of the proposed lease is on file in the Office of the County Attorney and the Office of the County Administrator, Isle of Wight Courthouse, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and is available for public inspection.

Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his views with respect to, the proposed lease extension may appear before, and be heard by, the Board during the Public Hearing section of the meeting in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia. The public meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The County of Isle of Wight is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
