HAMPTON — Sandra Lane, 66, passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, at home peacefully in her sleep. Born on Aug. 13, 1951 and raised in Isle of Wight County, Sandy was a graduate of Smithfield High School. She went on to enjoy a career in medical assisting. 

Sandy was a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Elinore Mingin; husband of 40 years, Bobby Lane; and brothers, Pete, Jack and Donald Mingin. 

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Scott Lane; grandchildren, Colton and Tristan; brothers, Bill (Diane) Mingin, Joe (Rhonda) Mingin; sisters, Sara Costello, Donna (Gerald) Howell, Lillian Baity (Gred Reedy); brother and sisters-in-law, Lewis (Linda) Lane, Kitty (Leroy) Gardner and Patricia (Art) Smith; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

A service will be held at St. Georges Episcopal Church, 15446 Warwick Blvd., Newport News on March 31 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
