CARROLLTON — Ann Jennings Montney, 74, passed away April 19, 2018 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Galax, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford M. Montney; and mother, Hazel I. Jennings. Ann was a Cradock High School Class of ’61, graduate as well as a graduate of Elon College. 

She was a retired comptroller with the federal government. Ann was a member of Benn’s United Methodist Church, the Carrollton Women’s Club and American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary of Smithfield. Ann is survived by her father, Mr. Robert M. Jennings; daughter, Julia Montney Paul and husband T.J. Paul; three grandchildren, Clarissa Saunders (Chad), Ian Saunders and Matthew Saunders as well as many extended close family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, on Tuesday, April 24, from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Carrollton Women’s Club, the Carrollton Library or the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department.
