Carol Price Clontz passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2018 at the age of 74. Carol was the daughter of John D. and Ruby T. Price. Born in Surry County, Carol lived the majority of her life in Smithfield, and retired from Smithfield Foods in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 29 years, Robert S. Clontz; and a sister, Audrey Taylor (Hassell). 

She is survived by two sons, Robert B. “Bobby” Clontz (Andrea) and John B. “Brad” Clontz; two much loved granddaughters, Emma and Haley Clontz; and a nephew, Douglas Taylor (Susie).  

The family would like to thank her long-time friend and caregiver, Alice Day, as well as Shanna Mathews, and her close friends and neighbors, for their dedication to her well-being. 

A funeral service will be held Friday May 11, 2 p.m. in Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield with burial to follow in Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon’s Castle.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 10, 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice.
