The consortium of churches runs a robust program that includes a food pantry, medical transportation, emergency assistance, dental and prescription help, home repair, an Angel Tree and more.

The highlight of the year for the organization is its annual Souper Saturday, where dozens of local churches donate pots of soup, and which is sold to the community. Proceeds from Souper Saturday goes to provide heating assistance to needy Isle of Wight County residents.

The nonprofit organization was founded in 1991 with Souper Saturday and for years operated in an unheated, non-air-conditioned building. The organization leased the former health department building from Isle of Wight County and moved into its current 5,000 square foot facility in 2014.
