Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 14, 2018, to consider an ordinance to amend and reenact Chapter 7, Fire Protection to update the County’s open burning provisions and adding provisions to regulate the storage and disposal of tires. The public meeting portion of the meeting will commence at 6 p.m. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Administrator, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia 23397, and is available for public examination. Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his views with respect to, the proposed ordinance may appear before, and be heard by, the Board during the Public Hearing in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia. PUBLIC NOTICE

Isle of Wight County, Virginia hereby gives notice that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors has proposed to accept an offer for the purchase of the following county property:

Being located on Great Springs Road identified as Tax Map Parcel Number 21-01-083D. Acquired by Isle of Wight County and being approximately 30.40 acres, more or less.

An offer of $130,000 has been submitted for the purchase of the property described herein. Persons wishing to upset the offer that has been received shall submit their offer to the office of the County Administrator, 17090 Monument Circle, Isle of Wight, Virginia, 23397 by 4:00 p.m., June 14, 2018. If there are any higher qualifying bids that bid will become the new offer. If there is more than one bid and the highest amount, the first such bid received will become the new offer. A qualifying high bid is one that raises the existing offer to an amount not less than $130,000. The Board of Supervisors must approve the final high offer before the sale is closed which it will endeavor to do within thirty (30) days after the final upset bid period has passed. Title will be transferred by a deed of bargain and sale. The County reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale at any time before the final high bid is accepted and the right to reject at any time all bids. PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Planning Commission, at its meeting on June 26, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., will hold a public hearing to consider an ordinance to amend the following sections of Appendix B. Zoning: Amendments, Article I (General Provisions), Article II (Interpretations and Basic Definitions), Article III (Use Types), Article IV (Zoning Districts and Boundaries), Article V (Supplementary Use Regulations), Article VI (Overlay Districts), Article VII (General Design Guidelines and Development Review Procedures), and Article VIII (Landscaping and Screening Standards). The purpose of the proposed amendments is to add definitions, clarify requirements, make editorial corrections, reduce duplication with other regulations, and make changes to permitted uses in certain zoning districts.

All persons who wish to be heard concerning the proposed ordinance amendments may appear before the Planning Commission at its regular meeting in the Board of Supervisors Room at Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia, on the above-referenced date at 6:00 p.m.
