HAMPTON — Ronald Edward Helms, 90, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Born in Detroit, Mich., Ron had worked many years in sales within the beauty and cosmetics industry before retiring to Hampton Roads in 1993. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Ron was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and its search and rescue airwing, serving more than 2000 hours of air search time.

Ron is survived by his wife, Jean Helms; son, Donald W. Helms; and three grandchildren, Joshua Harbants, Michael Frake and Sara Frake.

Interment will be held in Albert G. Horton Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, at a later date.
