July 4 falls on Wednesday next week, and in order to have your Smithfield Times delivered in a timely manner, we plan to have it printed Monday night and delivered to the Post Office and to local readers on Tuesday.

In order to facilitate that schedule, news and advertising for this coming paper only will be Friday at 5 p.m.

We will attempt to accept late items Monday morning as possible.

Fireworks

Isle of Wight County is hosting a fireworks shows in celebration of the Fourth of July in Smithfield on Tuesday, July 3, at Clontz Park and Wednesday, July 4, at Windsor High School. The show begins about 9:30 p.m. or when dark. For more information, call 376-0316.
