NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 7:00pm in the General District Courtroom of the Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia 23883, to hear public comments and consider the following ordinances:

Ordinance 2018-03, adding Section 26-42 to Chapter 26, Traffic and Vehicles, of the Surry County Code, Pertaining to the Open Storage of Inoperable Motor Vehicles and Civil Penalties. Ordinance 2018-04, adding Article V, Division II, Section 102-123 to Chapter 102, Buildings and Construction, of the Surry County Code, Pertaining to the Authority to Remove, Repair, or Secure Unsafe, Derelict or Defaced Structures; and Procedures for Notification of Owner. Ordinance 2018-05, adding Article V, Division I, Sections 102-114 through 102-122 to Chapter 102, Buildings and Construction, of the Surry County Code, Pertaining to Spot Blight Abatement Including Blight Abatement Authorization, Blighted Property Defined, Procedures for Declaring Blight; Notification of Owner; Public Hearing.

Copies of the draft ordinance are available for review and inspection by the public in the Office of the County Administrator, Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
