Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, August 16, 2018, to consider the adoption of Section 15-39, Assessment of new buildings substantially completed, etc. The purpose of the ordinance is to comply with Section 58.1-3292 of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended) and to allow the Commissioner of the Revenue to assess new construction upon completion of the building, rather than assessing a percentage of the value on the assessment day. The public meeting will commence at 6 p.m. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Attorney, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia 23397, and is available for public examination. Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his views with respect to, the proposed lease may appear before, and be heard by, the Board during the Public Hearing in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia. The application of Robin A. Wiatt, owner and applicant, for a Special Use Permit on a parcel totaling 3 acres with tax parcel identification number 21-01-044B located on Courthouse Highway. The purpose of the application is to allow for a congregate housing facility on property that is zoned General Commercial (GC).
The application of Ruth Powell Saunders, owner, and Tiffany Butler, applicant, for a Conditional Use Permit on a parcel totaling 1 acre with tax parcel identification number 65-01-027 located at 5269 Carrsville Highway. The purpose of the application is to allow for a contractor office and storage facility on property that is zoned Rural Agricultural Conservation (RAC).
Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.
