Randolph Tynes Gray Sr.

Randolph Tynes Gray Sr., 75, died on Aug. 8, 2018 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Md.  He was a Smithfield native and graduated from Westside High in 1960.  He later enrolled at Norfolk State University, and was a member of the ROTC and the Pershing Rifles Military Fraternity.  He later worked as a lab technician at St. Joseph Hospital in Baltimore.

Randolph was preceded in death by his parents: James H. Gray Sr. and Alice T. Gray; sisters, Alice G. Prather and Charlotte G. Hopkins; brothers, Clarence D. Gray, Walter Gray, Willie T. Gray, Franklin D. Gray and Elton E. Gray.

Randolph is survived by his wife, Cynthia Gray; children, Randolph T. Gray Jr. and James T. Gray of Baltimore, Alan R. Gray (Patrina) of Augusta, Ga., Anita Gray of Brunswick, Ga.; step-daughters, Cynthia Collins and Marla Wright of Baltimore; brothers, James H. Gray Jr. of Smithfield. Earl S. Gray Sr. (Gloria) of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Joyce G. Brown of Suffolk, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life is Monday, Aug. 27 at New Metropolitan Baptist Church, Baltimore.  The viewing is 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church and the funeral begins immediately afterwards.  Burial is at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, Md.
