The Summer Concert Series concludes Friday with a performance by Clay and Nancy Griffin and their country music band, Griffin Lane. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

Both Clay and Nancy Griffin performed with a variety of bands across the country, and now play with a group of seasoned musicians and lifelong friends known as Griffin Lane. One of the group’s annual performances is during the Summer Concert Series. They also expect to play for the Isle of Wight County Fair.

Griffin Lane plays familiar classic country songs as well as original music written and arranged by the Griffins.

The summer series is sponsored by The Smithfield Times and the Isle of Wight Arts League, and is financially underwritten by private donors. The outdoor concerts are held on the Times Gazebo Stage at 228 Main Street and are free to the public.
