Irving Travis Burns

SUFFOLK—Irving Travis Burns, 79, of Suffolk went to be with the lord on Sunday Sept. 2, 2018.  He was the son of the late Irving Nelson Burns and Eleanor June Martin Burns. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou Saunders Burns; daughters, Karen Gregory (Hal) and Sharon Miller (Grady); grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Jordan, Hunter and Riley; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Owens (Sonny) and Loretta Murray (Pete) and a host of nieces and nephews.  Travis attended Wilroy Baptist Church in Suffolk, and he was a member of Masonic Lodge 131, Glen Allen and a Shriner with Acca Temple.  In his retirement, he enjoyed his time on the golf course.  He lived his life by the motto “Give me true friends and music and life will be a pleasure.” 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. in Historic St. Luke’s Church, 14477 Benn’s Church Blvd, Smithfield.
