Lt. Col. (Ret) Thomas Joseph Orlowski

Lt. Col. (Ret) Thomas Joseph Orlowski, 76, of Smithfield passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at his residence.  He was born the son of the late Roman and Eleanor Orlowski.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn W. Orlowski; daughters, Christie Franzen, Diana Harris (John), Michelle Windsor (Philip), Nicole Benham and Sherree Setzer (Jeffery); Michael Roman Orlowski (Maria); 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Chupailo and Regina Starosta. After serving his country for over 20 years in the U. S. Army, he began his second career as a consultant in the computer software industry. 

Lt. Col. (Ret) Orlowski was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, served on the Board of Directors of the Luter Family YMCA, the Board of Coalition to Salute America Heroes, the President of the First Division Infantry Monuments Association.   A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 300 Smithfield Blvd., Smithfield.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 9, 6 to 7 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home.   

Lt. Col. (Ret) Orlowski will be laid to rest at a later date, with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.  The family suggest donations in his honor be made to the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, 552 Fort Evans Road, Suite 300, Leesburg, VA 20176.   Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
