RESCUE — Mary Elizabeth Sawyer Jones, 94, of Rescue passed away on Dec. 31, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Clyde Lenox Sawyer Sr. and Amanda Catherine Watson Sawyer.  Mary Elizabeth was a member of Smithfield Assembly of God Church and most recently attended Riverview United Methodist Church.  She was a devoted member of the Ladies Bible Study Class.  She is survived by her sons, James Jason Jones Jr. (Diane) and Richard Eslie Jones; grandchildren, Mary Ann (Jorge), Michael (Rachel), Jason (Brittany), Matthew, Tabitha (John) and April; and 14 great grandchildren.  

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Lenox Sawyer Jr.; her sister, Lila Ruth Messick; granddaughter Terry Elizabeth Jones and daughter-in-law, Carol Faye Jones.  

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 3 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church with burial to follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the church.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
