Troy Fernando Ilapit, 52, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at Obici Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Fernando and Ann Ilapit and was born in Portsmouth, raised in Chesapeake and resided in Smithfield.

Troy was a stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was especially proud to serve as bishop of the Smithfield, Virginia Ward.

A funeral service will be held Monday Jan. 7, 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4759 Bennetts Pasture Road, Suffolk. Condolences may be made at www.LovingFuneralHome.com.
