Aileen Llewellyn Haverty

The transition of Aileen Llewellyn Haverty, of Richmond, occurred on Dec. 14, 2018.  Ms. Haverty was born in Smithfield on Nov. 10, 1930 to the late William Selden Haverty and Edna Dean Haverty (née Stringfield).  She is predeceased by her sister, Anita Dean Haverty of Chester, and her brother, William Selden Haverty of Camden, N.J.

Ms. Haverty was briefly survived by her sister, Marion Haverty Hamm, of Richmond, who died on Dec. 25, 2018. She is survived by her brother, James Elliot Haverty and his wife, Barbara A. Haverty (née Byrum) of Suffolk; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a great-grand niece.

Ms. Haverty graduated from Smithfield High School in 1949, from the Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing (now Virginia Commonwealth University) in Richmond in 1952 and from the University of Wisconsin in 1963.

A private memorial service and internment officiated by the Rev. Derek Koolman will be held at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Smithfield.
