PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 16, 2019, to consider the Virginia Department of Transportation FY2020-2025 Six Year Improvement Program.
A copy of the proposed plan is on file in the Office of the County Administrator, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia 23397, and is available for public examination. Any person desiring to be heard in favor, in opposition to, or to express his/her views with respect to the above referenced ordinance may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors for the County of Isle of Wight on Thursday, May 16, 2019, in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room on the second floor of the Community Development Building, 17130 Monument Circle, Isle of Wight County, Virginia 23397.  The public meeting shall begin at 6:00 p.m.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedure to participate in the public hearing should contact the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at (757) 365-6204.

ORDER OF PUBLICATION

The Plaintiff filed this suit pursuant to Va. Code § 58.1-3965, et seq., to enforce its delinquent tax liens against the following real estate standing in the name of Josephine Doles:
Tax Map No.: 45A-01-127 Brief Description: At Zuni Lot

An affidavit having been filed that the Plaintiff used due diligence to locate the unknown heirs, devisees and successors in interest of Josephine Doles and Helen Stephenson, but without effect; that the post office addresses of unknown heirs, devisees and successors in interest of Josephine Doles and Helen Stephenson are unknown; and that there may be other persons having an interest in the property whose names and addresses are unknown, and those claiming through the aforementioned parties, all such persons made defendants as “Parties Unknown.”
It is ORDERED that this Order be published at least once a week for two successive weeks in the Smithfield Times, a newspaper of general circulation in Isle of Wight, Virginia, and that the parties named herein appear at 9 a.m. June 5 , 2019, in the Isle of Wight Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and do what may be necessary to protect their respective interests.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom of the Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia 23883, to hear public comments on the Proposed Six Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan for Fiscal years 2020 through 2025 in Surry County. Copies of the proposed plan are available for review by the public in the Office of the County Administrator, Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, to consider for recommendation to the Board of Supervisors the following applications:
The application of Carlton K. Outland, owner, for a change in zoning classification from Rural Agricultural Conservation (RAC) to Rural Residential (RR) and a waiver to Section 4-3004 of the Isle of Wight County Zoning Ordinance, that requires the lots be located on private shared driveway, with no frontage on the public road. The property contains twenty (20) acres of land which is part of Tax Parcel Identification Number 66-01-105 and is located on the east side of Freeman Drive (Rte. 612). The purpose of the application is to create two (2) single family residential lots.   The application of W. C. Sawyer, applicant and owner, to amend the Conditional General Commercial zoning of 2.45 acres of land located at 15135 Carrollton Boulevard on the property with Tax Parcel Identification Number 34-17-001. The purpose of the application is to increase the number of commercial uses permitted on the property.

Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.
Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said applications may appear before and be heard by said Planning Commission during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, June 6 , 2019 at 7:00 pm in the General District Courtroom of the Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia 23883, to hear public comments and consider the adoption of an ordinance amending Section 2-150 of the Surry County Code as it relates to increasing the amounts of the County’s small purchase procedures.  A draft copy of the Ordinance is available for review and inspection by the public in the Office of the County Administrator, Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, Virginia.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
