Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, August 8, 2019 to consider the following applications:

The application of Richard Meiser, applicant, and G. Cecil Cornett, Sr., owner, for a change in zoning classification from Rural Agricultural Conservation (RAC) to Village Center (VC) of approximately 1.25 acres of land located at 10438 Oak Spring Road on the property with tax map number 23A-01-104. The purpose of the application is to allow a single-family home to be constructed on the property.

An ordinance to amend the following section of Appendix A, Subdivisions: Article 3, “Administration and Procedures.” The purpose of the proposed amendments is to reduce and clarify requirements, make editorial corrections, increase flexibility, and ensure compliance with the Code of Virginia.

Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.

Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said applications may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex on Thursday, August 8, 2019. The public meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

The County of Isle of Wight is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD AMENDMENT AND REVISION OF ZONING ORDINANCE Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, (1950), as amended, that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 6:30 o’clock P.M., in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, to consider the amendment and revision of Articles 2, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3G,3H, 3I, 3J, 3K, 8, 10, 11, and 13of the Town’s Zoning Ordinance to define “event facilities”, to provide for event facilities as a permitted or conditional use within certain zoning districts within the Town and to enact provisions establishing general standards and standards for parking, loading and signage for event facilities.

An affidavit having been filed that the Plaintiff used due diligence to locate the unknown heirs, devisees and successors in interest of Gladys L. Smith and Rosanna Johnson Smith, but without effect; that the post office addresses of the unknown heirs, devisees and successors in interest of the unknown heirs, devisees and successors in interest of Gladys L. Smith and Rosanna Johnson Smith are unknown; and that there may be other persons having an interest in the property whose names and addresses are unknown, and those claiming through the aforementioned parties, all such persons made defendants as “Parties Unknown.”
It is ORDERED that this Order be published at least once a week for two successive weeks in the Smithfield Times, a newspaper of general circulation in Isle of Wight, Virginia, and that the parties named herein appear at 9 a.m. September 4 , 2019, in the Isle of Wight Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and do what may be necessary to protect their respective interests.
