NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE
SURRY COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2019 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE JUVENILE & DOMESTIC RELATIONS COURTROOM OF THE SURRY COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER, 45 SCHOOL STREET, SURRY, VIRGINIA TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION:
BZA Case No. 2019-02- Variance application of James R. Clanton, Jr. per Section 1-300, of the Surry County Zoning Ordinance (ZO). The application is to allow an accessory apartment not meeting the standards of Section 4-501 of the ZO. The subject property is zoned Agriculture Rural District (A-R), consists of 1.119 acres, and is located on the west side of Laurel Spring Road (Rt. 502) + 900 ft. south of Oak Hill Rd. The Tax Parcel Number is 22-5A.
Copies of the application are available for review and inspection by the public in the Department of Planning, Surry County Government Center, 45 School Street, Surry, VA 23883. 9 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday, telephone (757) 294-5210.

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, October 17, 2019 to consider the following applications:
The application of Riverside Pest Control, applicant, and Monster Storage LLC, owner, for a conditional use permit on 1.93 acres of land located on IWIP Road (Rte. 1032) with tax parcel identification number 42-06-009. The purpose of the application is to allow for a business support service.
The application of Bay Sand Company, Inc., applicant, and Anne Marie Kirk, owner, for a conditional use permit on 50 acres of land out of an 85 acre parcel located on a private road off Muddy Cross Drive (Rte. 620), with tax parcel identification number 41-01-055. The purpose of the application is to allow for the expansion of an existing resource extraction operation to be permitted on the property.
The application of Richard and Joanne Antcliff for an exception to the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area Ordinance under Section 4002 to allow encroachment into the landward 50 feet of the Resource Protection Area buffer to install an above-ground pool with decking and equipment at 14 Wenley Circle (Rte. 1407) with tax parcel identification number 14A-02-060.
Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.
Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said applications may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex on Thursday, October 17, 2019. The public meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
