Dessie Mae Stallings

CUMBERLAND, MD — Dessie Mae Stallings, 92, of Cumberland, Md., passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her son’s home in Smithfield.

Born Nov. 25, 1927, in Cumberland, Mrs. Stallings was the daughter of the late Herman Alfred Rice and Anna May (Bible) Rice.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Stallings; a daughter: Sue Ann Owens; a sister: Mary Lantz; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A graduate of Fort Hill High School Class of 1945, Dessie was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.

Dessie is survived by her son: Wayne Stallings and wife, Patricia; three grandchildren, Mandy Sarkissian and husband Mike; Jessica Black and husband, Guy; and Jason Owens; and a great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn Black.

At this time there will be no services, but there will be a memorial service held in the fall.

Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Mt Hermon United Methodist Church, 13200 Williams Road, SE, Cumberland, Md.  21502.
