The Smithfield Farmers Market scheduled for this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon has been canceled due to the threat of thunderstorms.

According to Farmers Market Manager Teresa Frantz, the market, which returned to its traditional Main Street location behind the Bank of Southside Virginia on May 16, will most likely continue in its current social distancing walk-through format throughout the month of June.
