Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 18, 2020, pursuant to Section 15.2-2507 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to consider a proposed budget amendment which exceeds one percent of the total expenditures shown in the adopted FY19-20 Operating and Grant Budget. Specifically, the amendment proposes to appropriate $3,237,617.00 from the Coronavirus Relief Fund Payments to the Grant Fund and General Fund to be used in accordance with the provisions of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020.

Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said ordinance amendment may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex on Thursday, June 18, 2020. The public meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 58.1-3651(B) of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended), that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 18, 2020, to consider the enactment of an ordinance to designate as exempt from taxation all real and personal property owned and operated by Smithfield VA Events.

The tax exemption classification would apply to personal property owned by Smithfield VA Events, with an assessed value of $7,887 and current annual tax of $354.92.

A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Administrator at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and is available for public examination.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors at its meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2020, will hold a public hearing to consider the amendment and extension of lease agreement with T-Mobile Northeast LLC pertaining to its lease of space upon a County owned water tower located at 22097 Brewers Neck Boulevard, Carrollton, VA. The lease amendment extends the term of the lease for an additional five (5) year term with the option to renew said lease for three (3) additional five (5) year terms.

Copies of the proposed lease are on file the Office of the County Administrator, Isle of Wight Courthouse, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and are available for public inspection. An ordinance to amend and reenact the Isle of Wight County Code by amending and reenacting Chapter 11-Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Article II, Motor Vehicle License Fee. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to bring the provisions thereof into compliance with state law and to make technical and editorial revisions.

The application of Hampton Roads Sanitation District, applicant, Smithfield Elk Lodge Number 65, owner, and Isle of Wight County, equitable owner, for a Conditional Use Permit on approximately 1.5 acres, located on tax parcel number 13B-02-A009, on Blount’s Corner Road (Rte. 674) The purpose of the application is to allow for a major utility service consisting of a regional pump station and one million gallon storage tank.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, the Town Council of the Town of Claremont, Virginia will conduct a Public Hearing on the following:

1. Proposed Real Estate tax increase from .05/$100 to .065/$100

2. Proposed Personal Property tax increase from .60/$100 to .68/$100

3. Proposed Budget for fiscal year 2020/2021 for Town, Water and Sewer

4. Council will vote to adopt the proposed Real Estate tax increase, proposed Personal Property tax increase, and proposed budget for 2020/2021

The proposed budgets will be available to view at the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall during business hours. The Public Hearing will be conducted at 7:00pm at the Town Hall, 4115 Spring Grove Avenue, Claremont Virginia.

All interested persons may appear at such time and place and present their views.
