Kids should be in classroom

The Isle of Wight County School Board’s decision to do all virtual learning for all of the upper classes this coming school year is really bad on many levels.

It has been proven that younger people are not as prone to catching the virus as their elders. And if they do, they most often have a light case. If the classes are held in the classrooms, they can be socially distanced.

Youngsters need socialization. They do not benefit from being kept home and away from others day after day. It is not mentally healthy.

Parents need to get back to work, and as long as their children are at home learning virtually, they will need to be at home supervising them. As long as everyone is at home and nobody is working, the economy will continue to suffer.

It is a continuing Catch 22 crisis that does not need to happen if the non-thinkers in charge would just listen to their constituents for a change.
