Editor, The Smithfield Times:

This is a response to a portion of Mr. Albert Burckard’s letter (“Keep historic structures intact,” Aug. 19).

I had asked him to stop spreading propaganda and things that he has no clue about. His first paragraph referencing the Schoolhouse Museum is not correct. There are no plans to move it back out to Longview where it came from and I am not sure where he got this information.

I am not sure of the deception that he speaks of as the museum is being advertised as a replica.

And I won’t dare discuss his comparison of the Schoolhouse Museum to the Confederate monument as this is a false equivalency.

Mr. Burckard, please stick to the facts.
