The 17th annual Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation Golf Tournament is set for Monday, Oct. 26, with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. at the Cypress Cove Country Club in Franklin.

“This is an opportunity for members of the community to get out and enjoy the outdoors while they support our student-athletes,” said Interim Director of Institutional Advancement Tony Clark. “All proceeds will benefit our Camp Hurricanes athletic department.” Clark also serves as interim executive director of the foundation.

In addition to registering a team for $400, players can take part as individual golfers for $100. The tournament fees include 18 holes, golf cart, beverages, lunch, dinner and awards.

Camp athletics has played an important role in student engagement, according to Athletic Director Dr. Justin Oliver. “It has been one of our goals to enhance student engagement at the college,” he said. “A content student is more likely to remain focused on their coursework. That results in an increased rate of student success.”

The upcoming golf tournament offers an array of sponsor opportunities as well. Registration will get under way at 11:30 the day of the event. For more information or to register, contact Clark at 757-569-6790 or tclark@pdc.edu.
