I am taking a chance here that Joe Biden will win the election. If he does not win, then the laugh is on me!

When Ronald Regan was elected in 1980 and I was attending college, some students and faculty acted like it was the end of the world. They even stated they felt a need to move out of the country. We’ve heard that before! Of course, nobody moved.

We face a similar situation now no matter who wins the presidential election. Our nation is so terribly divided, and I am hoping for a peaceful transition of power. The Democrats will probably gain control of both houses of Congress. I do believe in the framework of the Constitution, If only our government would work according to it!

If the Democrats do a good enough job, then they will stay in power. It’s as simple as that. Unfortunately, the Republican Senate and Trump have ruined any chance of the Republicans winning a national election in the foreseeable future. Situations change, but I do not see a Reagan-like politician anywhere in sight. Maybe that time has passed us by.

Our nation is already over $25 trillion in debt. Republicans only discuss the federal deficit when it suits them, and the Democrats just keep coddling for votes with their expensive social programs. The truth is neither party really cares about our national debt. One day they will have to care! It will be forced on them.
